Why did I receive a bill/EOB from Pathology Associates of Idaho Falls (PAIF)?

Your bill is a result of services rendered related to a sample, tissue, or body fluid submitted by your physician to PAIF for professional interpretation.

Who can I call to pay or discuss any issues with my bill?

For all billing questions, please call APS at 1-800-274-2158 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm GMT, and a member of the client services team will be happy to assist you.  Note: Payments cannot be processed at the PAIF Idaho Falls office.

Who is APS and why is the billing company for my pathology report performed out of state?

APS is a medical billing company based in Toledo, OH. All professional services are provided at the local level by our physicians and at our facility; however, we utilize APS, an out of state billing company, for payment processing only.

Can I receive an estimate for the cost of my test?

It is often difficult to provide an exact price for the interpretation of a tissue sample or lab test prior to your procedure or lab draw as in certain cases your pathologist may need special stains or additional testing to arrive at the correct diagnosis.  However, we understand the need to plan ahead to control costs and manage expenses.  If you would like to know more about the cost of your testing, we will do our best to provide a baseline estimate.  Please know, that while we do our best to minimize costs to our patients, the price may change depending on the complexity of your case.

Do you have a program for patients experiencing financial hardship or for patients without insurance?

If you are experiencing financial hardship or do not have a medical insurance plan that helps with the costs of the tests performed, please call APS to discuss payment options or plans that are best suited to your unique financial need.
