Biomarker and Molecular Testing

Due to insurance requirements, certain biomarker and molecular tests require an order from the treating physician. Depending on the test, an order may be sent directly to PAIF, or may need to be sent directly to the testing facility (molecular profiling). Please see the lists below for commonly requested ancillary studies and how to direct your order.

For any questions on how to order biomarker and molecular testing on patient’s samples, please do not hesitate to give our office a call at:

Order through Testing Facility

Molecular Profiling

Molecular profiling has become the standard of care for many tumor types. Due to insurance requirements, these molecular profiling companies require the TREATING physician to submit a signed order directly to their facility. That order will generate a request to PAIF for the necessary tissue samples. We are well versed in these requests, and will have the specimen and necessary paperwork mailed overnight within 1 business day. For most molecular profiling tests, once the specimen has been received, results will be available in 8-14 days. Please see below for a list of commonly requested molecular profiling labs with links to their ordering forms/portals.
