Dr. Teermann received her medical degree (magnum cum laude) from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. Prior to coming to the United States, she successfully completed her general surgery residency at Klinikum Hohenlohe, located in Germany, and Barnet General Hospital in Hertfordshire, U.K. Dr. Teermann's interest and expertise in gastrointestinal pathology stems from her experience as a general surgeon. In the United States, she completed her pathology residency at Northeastern Ohio College of Medicine.

"Gabi" is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland. She is fellowship trained in gastrointestinal pathology gaining a wealth of experience under director Dr. Robert Petras, a world renowned gastrointestinal pathologist.

While Dr. Teermann has written and contributed in many research projects and publications, she prefers to share her knowledge through lectures. Dr. Teermann takes the opportunity whenever possible, to share her expert knowledge in gastrointestinal pathology.

Dr. Teermann holds memberships in the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

With her husband, John, Gabi enjoys skiing, fishing, hiking and traveling. She also spends much of her time with her four-legged friends that include two cats and three dogs.
